COLOURS ON COURSE
Posted: Feb 07 2017
In late December, Greyhound Racing Victoria launched its inaugural Gippsland Carnival featuring four races at Sale, Warragul, Cranbourne and Traralgon. And, while Greyhound Racing Cups have always been known for their colourful and fun atmosphere this is the first time Greyhound Racing Victoria has shone a light on fashion.
At each of the race meets during the Carnival men and women will have the opportunity to show off their style in a fashion competition - with a twist! Rather than the glitz, glam and fascinators synonymous with horse racing, the 'Colours on Course' competition is all about the most stylish representation of the colours and patterns of the ten greyhounds.
What we love about this initiative by GRV is that women can easily enter (and win!) simply by wearing a dress that shows off the greyhound colours. Here's just a few ways you can embrace the greyhound colours by renting a dress at Her Wardrobe;
FASHION TIP: Each of these dresses would look great with nude wedges, which are the perfect choice of footwear for the Carnival.
FASHION TIP: Add a bright clutch or pair of shoes to any of these dresses and you can showcase more than one greyhound colour at the same time!
FASHION TIP: Looser fitting and flowing dresses not only bode well in the summer heat, but they suit the more relaxed environment of greyhound racing.
FASHION TIP: Renting a dress is a great way to try out a colour you've never worn before. Go for something bright and you're sure to catch the judge's eye!
Feeling inspired? Here are the complete ten greyhound colours, and all the info you need to know to enter 'Colours on Course'. The next Cup is at Cranbourne this Saturday, 11th February.
